How We Protect You

Saratoga National Bank is serious about safeguarding your personal information. Here are some of the steps we take to protect our customers:

Fraud Monitoring

To help minimize your exposure to fraud and the impact it may have on your account, we monitor your debit card and ATM transactions for unusual activity.

If we suspect fraudulent debit card or ATM use, fraud detection specialists will contact you on our behalf to validate the legitimacy of your transactions (this may be from a person or an automated-calling system). While your timely response to this call is critical in preventing potential risks and avoiding restrictions we may place on the use of your card, please feel free to contact your local branch to verify the legitimacy of this call.

If unusual activity is detected, our fraud detection specialists will:

  • Confirm you are the cardholder
  • Verify your card by referencing the last four digits of your debit card number
  • Verify the last four digits of your Social Security number
  • Review and confirm recent transactions

If you find that recent transactions are not authorized, your card will be deactivated and a new card issued.

If you are not at home when the call takes place, you will be provided with a case number for reference and asked to contact our fraud detection specialists. If you are uncertain about the legitimacy of the message, contact your local branch before calling back.

On top of our fraud monitoring, please be diligent in monitoring transaction activity on your accounts and contact us immediately if you identify any fraudulent transactions.  Be sure to let us know about upcoming trips to locations not in your normal travel pattern.

To learn more, contact any of our local offices or call us toll free at: (800) 246-2415.

Submitting Forms Online

Information you provide via electronic forms on our website is secure and encrypted in most instances. In other words, it is scrambled en route and decoded once it reaches us. You may check that your web session is secure by looking for a small lock symbol, usually located by the address bar toward the top of your web browser window. Current versions of leading web browsers indicate when a web page is encrypted for transmission through this symbol. You may also look for the letters "https://" at the beginning of your website URL in your web browser. The “s” means the web connection is secure.

Sending Email to the Bank

Email sent to us through means other than our Internet Banking or Business Online Banking systems may not be secure unless we advise you security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting information. Therefore, we ask that you do not send confidential information such as Social Security or account numbers to us via an unsecured email.  Such communications should be sent to us via postal mail, you may call (518) 583-3114, or visit one of our banking locations.
